When is the Camp? It is from July 3 until July 27 , 2007 and from July 30 to August 24, 2007.
How long is the camp? It is four weeks long.
Where is the camp? It is in beautiful Toronto, Canada.
Who is the camp for? It is for students 17 years old and under.
Is your program for teenagers only in the summer? No. Our Bridge Program for students under 17 is running all year. Our summer camps are in July and August. Our winter camp is in January.
What do students do during the day? During the day from 9:00 to 2:30 students study English. The morning is grammar, listening, reading, writing and lots of speaking. In the afternoon we use subjects such as, history, geography, Canadian culture and science to learn new ideas and vocabulary, and to practice our speaking.
How will the classes be divided? Students will be divided into different classes based on English ability and age.
Where will the students be from? We are expecting students from all over the world – Korea, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Spain etc.
Will students be coming as individuals or in groups? We welcome all students.
What happens after school? After school the fun begins as the students participate in a different activity every day. The activities are educational, very fun and explore what Canada and Toronto have to offer.
Where do students live? Students will live with a Canadian family. These families have worked with us before and have all been visited by our directors to ensure quality and reliability. Students will stay in a shared room with another student. If students wish they can request who they want to stay with. This option includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The second option is available to
groups and adult accompanied juniors. This is the fantastic student residence 89
Chestnut. This residence was formerly a hotel and is very comfortable. Student
will stay in a double room. The residence is conveniently located and has weekly
maid service, strong security, a gym, TV rooms, a salon, internet connection
points, and a cafeteria. A buffet breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner meal
plans are also available for an extra fee. How do students come to school? Students will all buy a Metro-pass when they arrive for $100 CDN. Before school starts they will be shown how to come to school by their home-stay parents. Students in a shared room will come to school together as a team. Toronto is a safe city and many young Canadian students use our public transportation system.
What is included in the price? The Intensive English course, the home-stay with 3 meals per day, the airport pickup, books and photocopies, all the activities, including the trips to Niagara Falls and French Canada, and all the fees are included.
What is not included in the price? Health insurance is mandatory and is not included. The metro-pass is not included. Guardianship for individual students is not included but can be arranged by Cornerstone for $100 CDN.
Why go to Cornerstone for the summer? Who doesn’t want an opportunity to experience other cultures and who doesn’t see the necessity of learning English? At our summer camp students will not even know they are learning as they are immersed into English and Canadian culture while doing so many fun activities. It is a chance to not only meet people from Canada but also kids their own age from all over the world. Join us for Cornerstone’s Summer Camp 2007!!!
