I began my teaching career in 2001 in South Korea, looking for a new experience and the ability to travel and learn a new culture rich in history. What I found, however, was my future and a career that challenged me. A job that gave me more satisfaction than I ever dreamed. I taught for over three years in Korea and one year in Japan before coming to Cornerstone in June 2008. I have loved the experience that it has brought me and I am grateful to be able to teach the Real Speaking program at this school. I have been teaching this program for a little over a year and have loved the ability to help students move to the next level. This program has allowed me to teach relevant news topics and helpful idioms and slang. I have been able to focus on teaching better speaking and pronunciation skills, but also the skill of listening. A skill that proves to be difficult at first, but my students pick it up extremely well.
I look forward to interacting with my students and being able to share some of my culture and at the same time learn some more about theirs. Coming to a new country can be scary and extremely exciting at the same time, but it is nice to know that you have a great school to support you and teachers that have been through the same experience.
