  • Morning Meeting
Teachers and students have casual conversation, a short game/review activity, learn a useful “Expression of the Day”, where students are awarded points for using correctly that day and take up homework from the previous day’s lesson.

  • Morning Integrated ESL
Lessons include tasks related to a theme which utilize listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation from a variety of resources and include fun activities like crafts, games and songs, as well as more traditional school paper-based activities.

  • Talk & Read / Talk & Write + Trip Activity
Lessons focus on either reading or writing skills with opportunity for speaking practice using interesting topics that are related to the themes chosen in the morning lessons.  Teachers incorporate Talk & Read / Talk & Write tasks that lead into preparation for daily activities like visiting the Royal Ontario Museum, the Science Centre and the CN Tower.

  • Weekly Review & Quiz
Teachers use this time to review the week’s ESL component with students through a variety of tools.  Tests are also given once a week to ensure progress is being made and specific help can be administered as necessary.

  • Social Hour

Students are given time to socialize with each other in English in a variety of realistic everyday situations, like during TV shows, while playing games and at get-togethers!
